The following is a brief overvew of features of aPlus+ software for managing tertiary assessment. Refer to the aPlus+ brochure for a more complete list.
Powerful, yet easy to useThe aPlus+ interface is web based, attractive and a pleasure to use. Staff are provided with relevant information and tools that are accessible remotely. Maintain brand consistencyaPlus+ ensures your staff and students are exposed to consistent branding with a fully brandable interface. The visual theme of aPlus+ can be tailored to suit you. CustomisableThe following is an example of configurable aspects of aPlus+: semesters, support menu, terminology, rounding, colours, branding, assessment types, grade keys, variety of extra information types. Support for units of competencyaPlus+ supports Units of Competency and optional elements of competency within each unit. aPlus+ distinguishes between national qualifications framework units and local units that are unique to your institute. Assessment managementAssessment components enable you to record separate marks for separate aspects of an assessment. Competency based assessment allows you to record whether the student passed or failed, or similar, rather than recording an actual mark. Where appropriate, grades can be entered directly. Assessment programmes can be copied to other courses. Support for courses where students are not taught and assessed at the same time (often referred to as Flexible Courses). Information sharingA fundamental aspect of aPlus+. Optionally allow staff to view all courses within their faculty and all students and results. Optionally allow all staff to view all student contact details. System administrators can create calendar items, general notices and important notifications for all staff to see. Course staff can create notes or important comments against a course, for other members to see. Reports can be saved and shared. Integration readyaPlus+ has been designed with connectivity in mind, and has a pluggable architecture to support integration with your Student Management System.
aPlus+ can support any student management system that provides read only database connectivity. Talk to us to find out if we already support your Student Management System (if not we soon will). Academic ReviewThe optional Academic Review facility enables struggling students to be identified, flagged and monitored. This is particularly relevant for institutes to monitor special groups such as international students. Configurable special informationIncidents of Dishonest Practise can be fully managed within aPlus+, with full details of the incident recorded and various statuses to be set as the incident is investigated and resolved. The aPlus+ specials framework enables any kind of extra information to be collected about assessment results, course results and unit standard results. |
Shared coursesaPlus+ caters for any number of courses to be grouped and managed as one, enabling Tutors one view for managing assessment and students, regardless which qualifications those students are enrolled in. Tutors can switch from component course to shared course view easily. Student Module
Giving students instant access to their assessment results on approval of results, not only provides great service to students but also enables students to quickly double check those results. providing a valuable layer of error-checking which ultimately improves the quality of system outputs. Import and ExportImport assessment marks from CSV file. Enabling results to be entered into a spreadsheet where there is no internet, and imported into aPlus+ later. Export reports. All reports generate exportable data tables, so that you can save the raw data to Excel and work with that in a spreadsheet as you need. Approval WorkflowaPlus+ provides a framework for approving assessment and course results. You choose the level of approval that suits you. Optionally a course moderator can be required to approve, then a course examiner, then Head of Department. Emails are sent to relevant staff as part of these workflows when their action is required.Faculty reportingReports are predefined and easy to use. Choose your report, specify the various inputs including selecting a range of courses, then view the result. Each report generates a table of information which can be exported to spreadsheet software such as Excel, and many reports provide graphs which summarise the report visually. Some reports include advanced views such as a matrix of students, courses and grades all on one view. Comprehensive access controlFlexible and comprehensive access control ensures that staff can only view and access what you choose. Set access to the system, to faculties, and fine grained control enables administrators to allow or deny specific permissions within each faculty.
